LOCAL YOUNG MAN WITH SPINA BIFIDA RECEIVES DONATED ELECTRIC SCOOTER

Dec 20, 2007

A young man by the name of Marty Hall age 20 of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, received a wonderful Christmas present — an electric scooter donated by The Rascal Company.  Marty along with his family (father Marty sr. and his mother Sue) were surprised this season when they received the Rascal Scooter presented by Lee Owen, a local mobility consultant for The Rascal Company.  The scooter donation was made at the local Volunteer Fire Department Hall.

Marty, who suffers from Spina Bifida, will now be able to use the Rascal Scooter to lead a more productive life, not only allowing him more mobility at home, but also around town and on trips with his family.   An avid hunter and fisher, Marty knew no limits when it came to his manual wheelchair.  “He was going through one manual wheelchair a year,” Lee Owen of The Rascal Company stated.  “He would take it all over outdoors.”

“Giving back is part of The Rascal Company’s corporate culture, and we are very pleased to make a donation to Marty Hall and his family,’” says Michael Flowers, chairman of The Rascal Company.  “It seems especially appropriate to be able to donate the scooter to a young man in need at Christmas time, a season for giving.  We wish Marty and his family all the best in the New Year.”

The Rascal Scooter is a re-chargeable transportation aid designed to improve people’s mobility, available in three and four wheeled models with a retail value over $3,000.

For over 30 years, The Rascal Company of Sewell, NJ.  has designed and manufactured electric scooters designed for active people who want to stay active.
